The Metropolitan Consultancy Team (MCT) is part of the Services Directorate at the Disability Services Commission. The role of the team is to support the disability sector and wider community through consultancy and training. This service is available to people and organisations who support individuals with disability and/or developmental delay. There are no boundaries on age or type of disability.
The MCT is committed to the development of diverse, innovative and evidence-based services which ensure a healthy, safe and better future for all people with disability.
The team has a broad knowledge base around contemporary evidence-based practices for children, youth and adults with disability and their support networks. The team consists of highly experienced staff including team members who have presented at conferences both nationally and internationally. The MCT has backgrounds in:
- occupational therapy
- speech pathology
- family systems therapy
We work in partnership with you to ensure our services can be individualised to meet your specific needs.
All support and training can be provided in a number of formats to individuals and groups that may include:
- On-site, phone, email or video support/consultation
- professional development and training
- development of resources and sharing of information on contemporary research and evidence-based practice in the area of disability
- collaboration and partnerships related to research and project opportunities.
