A photography competition about your interpretation of an accessible and inclusive community, open to all staff and students at Challenger Institute of Technology.
Judging will take place on Monday 14 November and there are some great prizes on offer, including a digital camera, photo book and digital photo frame.
All winners will be notified by Friday 9 Dec 2011.

Wednesday 23 November – Inclusion Forum (Busselton)

Saturday 26 November - Free family lunchtime concert to celebrate International Day for People with a Disability (Collie)
Location: Forrest St Rotunda, Collie
Come sit on the lawn, sing-along and join in the fun in the Forrest Street Rotunda Collie from 11am to 1pm. A free sausage sizzle will be available or you can bring your own lunch. Extra ACROD parking and shade will be available, and large print song sheets will be provided.

Tuesday 29 November - Early Days - Encouraging Early Interactions workshop (Floreat Park)

Tuesday 29 November - Disability Awareness Week 2011 and morning tea event (DPS offices)
Location: 7th floor training room, Department for Premier and Cabinet offices
Disability Awareness Week recognises and shares the achievements of individuals, organisations, local and state government and local communities in contributing to a better future for people with a disability. Disability Awareness Week also coincides with International Day of People with Disability, held on 3 December.
The Department of Premier and Cabinet, together with Public Sector Commission, is holding a morning tea to raise awareness of Disability Awareness Week and International Day of People with Disability. It will be held at 10am.

Wednesday 30 November - A talk and morning tea with author Jan Gothard (Melville)
Location: AH Bracks Library, Melville
Local Area Coordination invites you to celebrate Disability Awareness Week and the International Day of Disability by attending a talk and morning tea with Jan Gothard. Jan will discuss the shift in expectations and changes in possibility for people with disability in the 21st century. It will run from 10am, and will be followed by morning tea.
Jan Gothard is an award-winning historian with a long-term interest in disability since the birth of her daughter Maddie in 1992. She is associate professor in Australian history at Murdoch University. Her new book, Greater Expectations, is a partly-autobiographical account about living with Down syndrome.

Wednesday 30 November to December - Creative Waves Art Exhibition (Geraldton)
Location: Arts Cultural Development Centre (ACDC), Marine Terrace, Geraldton
To celebrate International Day of People with Disability you are cordially invited to attend the opening of the Inaugural Creative Waves Art Exhibition & the Launch of You’re Welcome Access WA Initiative.
Since August workshops on various aspects of art have been held at low cost for participants for them to be able to develop artwork for the exhibition. It is proposed that the art will be sold with profits going back to the artist.
Mayor Ian Carpenter will be officiating at the event.

Wednesday November 30 and Thursday December 1 - Free Adult GymAbility Come and Try sessions (Leederville)
Location: Loftus Recreation Centre, 99 Loftus Street, Leederville
The GymAbility Participation Program, run by Gymnastics Western Australia, offers gymnastics participation opportunities for individuals with a disability, from children through to adults.
The program focuses on creating a fun, supportive environment so that every participant can be successful. Particular emphasis is placed upon increasing mobility and flexibility. Adults with a disability will need to attend with a carer.

Thursday 1 December - Free Family Picnic to Celebrate Disability Awareness Week (Subiaco)
Location: Mueller Park Universal Playspace, corner of Coghlan and Roberts Road, Subiaco
In celebration of Disability Awareness Week, children (especially those with disability) and their parents and carers are invited to enjoy a picnic under the shady trees of Mueller Park from 11am to 1pm.

Tuesday 6 December - Tracksuit 2011 Performance
Location: Midland Junction Arts Centre, 276 Great Eastern Highway, Midland
Tracksuit meet each week to learn and train in performing arts skills including dance, drama, text and improvisation.
It is our pleasure to invite you to the Tracksuit 2011 Performance Program at 1pm. The performance will run for 50 minutes, and will be followed by light refreshments.
Tracksuit is WA's all-ability, inclusive, performing arts program for adults who have had an experience with disability, mental health or social exclusion. A DADAA WA initiative founded in 2010, Tracksuit is co-directed and facilitated by James Berlyn and Paige Gordon.
