Rural and remote services

The Commission provides two services for West Australians living in rural and remote areas of the State.

The Early Years Country Team team provides the following services:

  • assessment and diagnosis of intellectual disability and autism
  • coordination and delivery of early childhood development programs
  • training for families and communities dealing with behaviour and development issues
  • a consultancy service for people seeking assistance with behaviour management or mental health issues associated with their disability.

The Country Resource and Consultancy team provides support to all country-based therapists.  Team members help therapists develop knowledge and skills in providing services for people with disability, whether they are employed in government departments or in private practice.
