The Commission supports research that will increase the knowledge base relating to disability and contribute positively to the development of information, attitudes and services for people with disability, their families and carers. However, it is important to note that the Commission is not a funder of research.
For those who seek to conduct research within the Commission – in relation to staff, service providers, individuals receiving services, or any instance where the Commission provides data – proposals are required, and should demonstrate how the research will advance knowledge and be related to the area of disability and associated conditions. The Commission’s Director General is responsible for the assessment and approval of these proposals.
