Disability sector collaboration and consultation

Guiding Committee

The Guiding Committee is made up of representatives from disability sector organisations, the Commission, and people with disability, their families and carers.  The committee is working collaboratively across the sector to progress initiatives within the sector and across other services and agencies, such as Health, Mental Health and Education.

The Commission has two teams that provide consultation services.

The work of the Behaviour Support Consultation team is to build collaborative partnerships across the sector.  These partnerships facilitate the development of best practice guidelines, engagement in and support of research, the exploration of the provision and organisation of training and workforce development, and working towards the development of policies, associated guidelines and processes in behaviour support services.

For further information on the work of the Behaviour Support Consultation team, contact the Positive Behaviour Strategy Manager on 9301 3800.

The Accommodation Behaviour Support team offers a consultation services for staff working with people living in supported accommodation.  Clinical psychologists or behaviour consultants are available to provide support to disability sector organisations through the behaviour support help desk.

For support and advice the consultation service is available on 9329 2360 on Tuesday (9am to 12.30pm) and Thursday (1pm to 4.30pm).
