Ningaloo Coast more accessible with beach wheelchairs

Date: 25/01/2018

Three beach wheelchairs are now available to use in the Exmouth District, allowing people with disability and their families and carers to better access and experience the Ningaloo Coast.

The specially-designed wheelchairs were purchased by Explore Parks WA with the support of grant funding. They have large inflatable balloon-like tyres designed for use in outdoor environments and to enable easy and safe travel over rough terrain.

The wheelchairs are free of charge and available every day of the year at the following locations:

  • Wheelchair 1: Milyering Discovery Centre, Cape Range National Park.
  • Wheelchair 2: Coral Bay, Ningaloo Marine Park
  • Wheelchair 3: Permanent location yet to be confirmed by Explore Parks WA

Bookings are essential by contacting the Explore Parks WA Exmouth District Office on 9947 8000 between 8am and 5pm weekdays.

Further information about the wheelchairs and their locations is also available on the Explore Parks WA website.
