Equipment and technology

As well as providing an improved quality of life and greater independence in terms of mobility, communications and access, equipment and technology have helped broaden the horizons for many people with disability.

There have been many advances in the design, range and availability of equipment and technology commonly referred to as "assistive technology" that support people with disability.

This section provides information about the specialist equipment services the Commission funds and the Community Aids and Equipment Program (CAEP) which funds the provision of equipment and home modifications to benefit people with a long-term disability living at home in the community.
