NDIS roll-out schedule

From 1 July 2017, in line with the Bilateral Agreement between the State and Commonwealth governments signed in January 2017, the NDIS will begin rolling out to the local government areas of Rockingham and Mandurah and the Pilbara and Kimberley regions.

Also from 1 July 2017, the WA NDIS will commence for eligible people with disability living in the Perth Hills and surrounding areas (the local government areas of Swan, Kalamunda, Mundaring, Bayswater, Bassendean, Chittering, Toodyay, Northam and York) who are not currently connected to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The NDIS will be available to people at different times depending on which local government area you live in, as outlined below.

1 July 2017 

Ashburton, Broome, Derby-West Kimberley, East Pilbara, Halls Creek, Port Hedland, Wyndham-East Kimberley and Karratha.

South Metro
Mandurah and Rockingham.

Existing WA NDIS sites
Augusta-Margaret River, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Busselton, Donnybrook-Balingup, Manjimup, Nannup, Cockburn, Kwinana, Armadale, Murray and Serpentine-Jarrahdale.

Perth Hills for those not already connected with the NDIA
Bassendean, Bayswater, Kalamunda, Mundaring, Swan, Chittering, Northam, Toodyay and York.

  • The State Government is currently working with the NDIA to develop arrangements for existing NDIA trial participants in the Perth Hills and expansion areas to transition to the WA NDIS.  While these arrangements are developed, NDIA participants will continue to be supported by the NDIA.
  • Anyone not connected with the NDIA NDIS can test their eligibility for the WA NDIS.
